Quay County enacts fire ban

TUCUMCARI, N.M. (KRQE) – The Quay County Commission enacted a fire ban for the unincorporated areas of Quay County effective March 10.
According to the proclamation, the county cited the reasoning for the ban as the counties of eastern New Mexico and west Texas experiencing a prolonged drought with very little moisture.
Restrictions include smoking, except in enclosed buildings, within vehicles with ash trays, on paved surfaces, or while in an area at least three feet in diameter that is b
