Public asked to weigh in on social workers de-escalating situations in lieu of police

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The city of Albuquerque is asking for the public’s input as it works to build a Community Safety Department. The project aims to send social workers to de-escalate situations instead of sending police.The survey asks questions about when and how responders should react to situations, as well as when police should join the responders. The survey is available for people to take online.
