Proposal to expand three-strikes law goes before lawmakers

SANTA FE (AP) – A proposal to expand the three-strikes law for sentencing habitual violent offenders in New Mexico is expected to go before lawmakers on Thursday.
The proposal to amend the law would add crimes to the list that make offenders with at least three violent felonies eligible for life sentences.
