Portable power stations recalled after man's death
(WJW) – Thousands of portable power stations are being recalled after a man’s death.The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of around 5,700 HALO 1000 Portable Power Stations over concerns that the lithium-ion batteries in the units can overheat, potentially causing fires.The recall follows a fatal incident in June 2022, when a 79-year-old man in Bradenton, Florida, died from smoke inhalation after a fire related to the power station.
