Police: Carlsbad man in custody attempted kidnapping, shooting

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – A man is in police custody after allegedly trying to kidnap children in Carlsbad.
It happened Friday after police received reports of a possible shooting. Officers were told that someone inside a white vehicle was pointing a gun at a black truck. Police say there were several young witnesses in the area who told police the man was trying to get kids into the vehicle with him.
