Police arrest repeat offender in southeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Early Thursday morning, police officers arrested 25-year-old Rufus Phelps, a wanted man, in southeast Albuquerque on Gibson near Louisiana.
Police were in the area investigating a different crime when they saw a woman pull into a motel parking lot with Phelps in the passenger seat. Officers recognized Phelps, and checked to see if he was wanted. Sure enough, there was a warrant out for Phelps for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
