Police activity prompts lockdown at La Mesa Elementary

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – La Mesa Elementary School has been placed on lockdown due to police activity in the area.
Police say officers on scene are a violent carjacking. Albuquerque Police say officers are searching for the offenders and have set up a perimeter in the area of Central and Pennsylvania. APD is asking anyone who notices suspicious activity to call 911.
Albuquerque Public Schools Police is asking people to avoid the area.
