Plea deal for accused Albuquerque conman could be thrown out
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The plea deal for an accused conman could be thrown out.
David Rendon pleaded no contest back in February to stealing $30,000 from the Old Town Merchants Association.
Shop owners say Rendon, who went by the name “Red Feather,” made big promises all while slowly stealing their money.
Rendon was scheduled to be sentenced Tuesday, but the state now claims they were not aware of a prior felony conviction in another state when the plea agreement was made.
