Philadelphia primps, activists prepare for DNC convention

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The final preparations are underway in Philadelphia as the city gets ready to host the Democratic National Convention.
More than 5,000 delegates are among the 50,000 people expected to attend the gathering that starts Monday.
Officials are banning large trucks and other vehicles from nearby stretches of Interstate 95 and other highways leading in and out of Philadelphia.
Protest groups are getting ready this weekend for events scheduled throughout the week.
