Orphaned bear cubs doing well at wildlife center
ESPANOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – The bear cubs orphaned after their mother was shot in the Valles Caldera are doing better. Dr. Kathleen Ramsey is caring for the animals at a wildlife center in Española.
She says each of the bears now weighs about 20 pounds.
The doctor told the Los Alamos Daily Post that the cubs are still working to get used to their new diet of fruit, veggies and dog food. When the cubs came in they each weighed only like 10 pounds.
