Officer on administrative leave following officer-involved shooting

SUNLAND PARK, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting.
It happened in Sunland Park on Sunday at about 10:30 p.m. when police were responding to a domestic violence call. Investigators say Rafael Cervantes, 18, held several family members hostage and threatened them with a knife.
Police say that when officers arrived on scene they located Cervantes, a woman and a child. During the incident, police say Cervantes tried to flee the scene. An of
