NMSU campus police: Man shot, in stable condition

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) – Authorities say a man is hospitalized in stable condition after being shot during a confrontation with a New Mexico State University police officer on the main NMSU campus in Las Cruces.
Campus police and university spokesman Justin Bannister say the shooting occurred late Monday night after an officer responded to a report of a man with a gun at apartments on campus.
