New Year’s Eve celebrations create a cab crunch for party goers

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Bernalillo County has teamed up with ABQ Cab Company to offer free rides on New Year’s Eve.
“Everyone has to be patient,” ABQ Cab President, Dion Hindi, said. “We do as well as we can with all 700,000 people in the city wanting a cab at the same time.”
Hindi said the company has added 25 more cabs to be out on the road Thursday night. The program is called Tavern Taxi. It’s part of the county’s program to promote safe driving.
