New study shows great results for telephone counseling

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A new study shows a certain type of genetic counseling may be just as good as in-person.
The study, recently published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, followed two groups of women who were at increased hereditary risk for breast or ovarian cancer. One group traveled to meet in-person with a genetic counselor and the other group received counseling over the telephone.
