New Mexico VA system offering veterans rides to medical appointments

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico veterans will soon have an easier way of getting to and from medical appointments. The New Mexico VA system has created the veteran transportation service which helps get vets to their appointments at the VA Medical Center in Albuquerque.
For many, it’s the only place they can be seen even though they don’t live close by.
Right now there are five wheelchair accessible vans that can carry up to eight people each.
