New Mexico man pleads guilty to brutal assault

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – A Farmington man is now admitting to the brutal beating of his girlfriend that left her unconscious.
John Fierro, 26, allegedly kicked and hit his girlfriend in the head back in October.
She was rushed to San Juan Regional Medical Center with a head injury, six broken ribs, a collapsed lung and fractured vertebrae.
On Monday, Fierro pled guilty to the assault. He’ll be sentenced to two years in prison followed by probation.
