New Mexico extends comment period on lab cleanup plan
LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico regulators are giving the public more time to comment on a plan governing the cleanup of tons of hazardous waste and contamination left behind by decades of research at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The state Environment Department announced Friday that the comment period is being extended another 15 days to May 31.
The department will present comments received so far at a meeting next week in Santa Fe.
