New bills aim to tackle Albuquerque DWI problem
SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – Lawmakers say they are getting tougher on drunk driving with new legislation, but critics worry the proposed laws will only give New Mexicans a false sense of security.
Rep. Sarah Maestas Barnes (R-Albuquerque) is co-sponsoring one of three bills filed on Monday to strengthen DWI penalties.
