Motorcade held for fallen Hatch officer, public funeral planned

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A motorcade will take place Monday for fallen Hatch Police Officer Jose Chavez who was killed in the line of duty.
Officer Chavez was a two year veteran of the Hatch Police Force. The officer was shot in the neck during a traffic stop Friday when he pulled over two men wanted for murder charges in Ohio.
The men have been identified as Jesse Hanes and James Nelson. Investigators say Hanes was the alleged gunman who shot Chavez. They also say after shooting Of
