Man shot by state police released from hospital, facing charges

VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A man shot by state police a week ago is out of the hospital and facing charges.
Officers tried arresting 26-year-old Augustine Carrillo-Ortiz last Thursday near El Mana Mini Mart in El Cerro mission.
But Ortiz gunned his vehicle and pinned Sergeant Hugo Munoz, a 14 year veteran of the force, between two vehicles. Three officers fired shots, hitting Ortiz.
