Man opts for prison time after 6th DWI charge

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Las Vegas man has decided to spend 9 months in prison instead of 5 years on probation for his sixth DWI charge. Taos News says Jesus Barraza-Ruiz took a plea deal and opted for prison time this week.
It happened east of Taos after Thanksgiving when Barraza-Ruiz led state police on a chase for about four miles before pulling into the front-yard of a mobile home where his kids were.
