Longtime state lawmaker Martinez resigns from Legislature

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – Longtime state legislator Ken Martinez has resigned from the Legislature and will instead work as the new Bernalillo County attorney.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that Former House Speaker Ken Martinez, D-Grants, resigned Wednesday in a letter to acting Secretary of State Brad Winter. Earlier this year Martinez announced he would not seek re-election.
