Leap Day costs Albuquerque thousands

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – It’s good news for Albuquerque that Leap Day won’t be coming around again for four more years.
The extra day actually costs the city more money.
Whether it’s running city buses, opening the BioPark’s doors or even a game of golf, on Leap Day the City of Albuquerque still has to keep everything moving.
The extra day cost the city about $250,000.
