Las Cruces PD: Elderly woman's death deemed suspicious

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Las Cruces Police Department says it's investigating a “suspicious homicide" of an 80-year-old woman who was found dead in her home this past Sunday, Aug. 4.
According to LCPD, on Sunday, officers responded to a welfare check on the 100 block of West Madrid Rd.
Police found the dead woman, who was later identified as Maria Rodriguez, 80, inside the home and "deemed suspicious" due to how she died, according to LCPD.
