Jury selection begin in Albuquerque homeless beating death case

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Jury selection began today in the trial of an Albuquerque teen charged with the beating deaths of two homeless men.
Prosecutors tried yesterday once again to cut a plea deal with Alex Rios offering him a 30-year sentence on two counts of second degree murder.
Rios rejected it. His attorney claims a witness can exonerate him.Police say Rios, Nathaniel Carrillo and Gilbert Tafoya beat three homeless men in a dirt lot last year. Two of the men were killed.
