Jury deliberations to continue in Sandy, Perez trial

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Jury deliberations will continue Tuesday in the murder trial of two former Albuquerque Police Department officers who shot homeless camper James Boyd.
Jurors deliberated the fate of Dominique Perez and Keith Sandy for eight hours Friday before the judge sent them home for the weekend.
Prosecutors have argued Sandy and Perez used excessive force when they shot Boyd in the Foothills in 2014.
But the defense says the officers shot to protect the life of a K-9 handle
