Judge refuses to grant plea deal to convicted murderer

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A judge has refused to grant a plea deal to a man accused of raping and murdering an Albuquerque woman.
Truett Thomas was already convicted back in 2012 for the first-degree murder and rape of Guadalupe Ashford in 2010. But a judge reversed the verdict on appeal after Thomas claimed he didn’t get to confront one of the witnesses directly, a forensic expert who testified via Skype.
