Judge denies bond request for accused rapist
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man accused of brutally raping a woman and leaving her for dead will remain behind bars to the relief of his alleged victim. Joseph Apodaca went before a judge Monday asking that his $1 million bond be lowered, the judge denied his request.
Apodaca is accused of attacking a former classmate when the two met up at a bar in May 2014, then leaving her in her car in a parking lot, where she almost bled to death.
