Johnny McCants chooses New Mexico State

ALBUQUERQUE(KRQE) – Onate High basketball star Johnny McCants is taking his talents to the New Mexico State Aggies. McCants signed a letter of intent to play of the Aggies and first year head coach Paul Weir Tuesday.
The 6-7 forward is expected to redshirt during the upcoming season for the Aggies. In his final year at Onate, McCants led the Knights to a Class 6A semifinal appearance. He averaged nearly 20 points, over 12 rebounds and 4.9 blocks during the season.
