Incoming winter storm

It was another cold start across New Mexico this morning. But warmer temperatures are on the way this weekend.
A high pressure system is on its way out of central California this afternoon. But overnight the associated ridging let to strong northerly flow of the jet stream over New Mexico. This northerly flow brought cold air down into the state. Resulting is a drop in temperatures overnight and through this afternoon.
