Identity theft safeguards could delay 2017 tax refunds

(KRQE) – January tax filers, might not see their tax refunds until mid-February or even later.
Many refunds will be delayed this year because of new law and identity theft safeguards.
The IRS announced if you claim the earned income tax credit, or the additional child tax credit, you won’t see your money until February 15th at the earliest.
The agency estimates that 24% of all earned income tax credit payments in 2013 were mistakenly issued.
