Gov. Martinez: State’s summer food program doled 13M meals

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) – New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez has announced the state’s summer food program has served more than 13.6 million meals to New Mexico’s children in six years.
The Republican governor said this week that number is expected to exceed 16 million meals as the food program began on Wednesday.
Last year, the Food Research and Action Center ranked New Mexico the No. 1 state for serving meals to low-income children over the summer months.
