Former Santa Fe County corrections officer awaits sentencing

SANTA FE (KRQE) – A former corrections officer at the Santa Fe County Jail who pleaded guilty to drug charges is awaiting sentencing.
Edward Owens, 21, admitted he smuggled suboxone, a prescription drug into the jail for an inmate back in 2014.
As part of a plea agreement, Owens faces up to 10 years in prison. His sentencing has been scheduled for March.
