Food stamp changes take effect
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Happening Friday, the new rules on food stamps in the state take effect.
Thousands of people in New Mexico will be required to complete new work requirements in order to get food stamps.
Most working-able adults without kids between 18 to 49 who receive benefits under SNAP Will have to prove they spend 80 hours a month in approved work activity to continue receiving monthly benefits.
Looking for a job or volunteering will qualify.
