EPA will pay out $4.5 million for Gold King Mine spill
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Environmental Protection Agency said it will pay $4.5 million to state, local, and tribal governments in New Mexico and Colorado.
This after last year’s Gold King Mine Spill.
An EPA led crew accidentally released three million gallons of toxic waste into rivers in New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah.
The agency did turn down more than $20 million in other requests for past and future expenses.
