Dog Head Fire: Thursday afternoon weather update

Weather Update
Wind, extremely dry conditions and heat continue to plague crews battling the Dog Head Fire Thursday afternoon. Winds continue to be strong out of the west, southwest. They are sustained from 10-20 mph with gusts ranging from 25-35 mph within the area of the fire.
These winds will fan most of the smoke away from Albuquerque, but it will cause for thicker smoke in eastern New Mexico. Albuquerque could continue to see smoke this afternoon from the Cedar Fire in Arizona and less so f
