Deputy U.S. Marshal dead in Georgia shooting

LONG COUNTY, GA (KRQE) – Many are mourning after a U.S. Marshals deputy was shot and killed Friday while serving a warrant on a fugitive in Southeast Georgia.
53-year-old deputy commander Patrick Carothers was part of a team serving an arrest warrant.
The suspect was wanted for attempted murder of police officers, domestic violence, and unlawfully discharging a weapon during an incident in South Carolina in September.
