Deadline approaching for New Mexico State Police application

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The deadline is quickly approaching for law enforcement officers who want to join New Mexico State Police.
State Police usually requires everyone to go through the full 22-week academy. But to add more officers to the force, the department has decided to hire lateral police officers too.
That means anyone with at least three years of experience will only have to complete a seven-week academy with a nine-week field training period after that.
