Crews work to contain Timberon Fire, residents anxious to go home

OTERO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Friday is day three of the fire in the small mountain town of Timberon south of Cloudcroft, and many residents still cannot get back into their homes — if they’re lucky enough to still have one.
Fire officials announced Friday the Timberon Fire is now 16 percent contained and has burned nearly 260 acres.
