Crews begin to control Brown Fire near Socorro

SOCORRO, N.M. (KRQE) – Barring any windy conditions or flare-ups, crews seem to have control of a fire in the Bosque near Socorro.
The so-called “Brown Fire” started Tuesday evening on private land on both sides of the Rio Grande.
No structures were threatened and a cause is still unknown.
A crew is still out there watching over the burn area and some smoldering spots just so it doesn’t start back up again.
