Cousin remembers late bluegrass icon

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)– A bluegrass icon’s cousin is remembering the late singer.
Ralph Stanley, or “Doctor Ralph” as he was known, was a bluegrass pioneer who performed for seventy years.
The Grammy winner credited for the “Stanley style” of banjo playing and won a Grammy in 2002.
He died at the age of 89 from skin cancer.
His second cousin Greg lives here in Albuquerque and says he remembers Doctor Ralph fondly.
