Community gathers to honor fallen Alamogordo officer

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) – A New Mexico officer is dead after a shooting Friday. That officer was with another officer when they crossed a man with a lengthy criminal record.

The scene is still taped off as State Police continue to investigate the shooting. Police say during a patrol Friday morning, 38-year-old Joseph Moreno led two officers on a foot pursuit.
