Cold start to the New Year

Temperatures are continuing to drop across New Mexico as the countdown to New Year's gets closer.
A strong cold front moved through New Mexico last night. This led to a drop in temperatures across the state today. The temperature drop was strongest across eastern New Mexico. Some places saw temperatures 20 degrees colder today than yesterday. The cold front weakened as it moved further west.
