Cochiti Pueblo, State make land swap
ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A land swap in New Mexico is making both the Cochiti Pueblo and the state happy.
The state has traded the Old Dixon Apple Orchard and 8,800 acres of state trust land in northern New Mexico to Cochiti Pueblo in exchange for a property in downtown Santa Fe.
The Garrett’s Desert Inn, which includes the popular restaurant, The Santa Fe Bite, sits on that land. It now becomes the property of the State Land Office.
