City Council votes to demolish abandoned Albuquerque home

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An abandoned home that’s been an eyesore in downtown Albuquerque will soon be demolished.
The home on 3rd Street near the Rail Yards caught fire about two and a half years ago. It now sits vacant, and neighbors say it’s been a popular spot for squatters.
In a city council meeting Monday night, councilors voted to name the house a nuisance, saying the city could demolish the home as early as this summer.
