Cities pass taxes on sugary drinks, advocates predict more

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A soda tax measure in Colorado appears headed toward victory, joining a trio of similar measures approved by voters in three San Francisco Bay Area cities.
The votes are energizing advocates who say the victories indicate growing momentum for measures that discourage people from guzzling calories.
