Carlsbad police: Man fatally shot while driving van

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) – Carlsbad police say a driver is dead following an early morning shooting.
Lt. Jon Blackmon says police responding to a report of gunfire at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday found 41-year-old Eric A. Florez fatally wounded from multiple gunshot wounds. Florez then died at the scene.
According to Blackmon, Florez was driving a van when he was shot and that witnesses described a white pickup truck as a possible suspect vehicle.
