Carlsbad Caverns begins repair work on elevators

CARLSBAD, N.M. (AP) – Crews have started repair work on the elevators at Carlsbad Caverns National Park after they were out of service for months.
The Current-Argus reports that politicians, community members and tourists have all expressed frustration at the amount of time it’s taken to address the broken elevators.
Caverns Superintendent Doug Neighbor says the elevators should be back in service by Memorial Day weekend if everything goes as planned.
