Campus police: ENMU active shooter alert was false alarm

PORTALES, N.M. (KRQE) – Campus police say an active shooter alert issued Wednesday by Eastern New Mexico University was just a false alarm.
ENMU in Portales sent out an alert Wednesday morning, advising those on campus to shelter in place and mute their cell devices.
Campus police now say the alert was just a false alarm, caused by an accidental button push. ENMU says campus may return to its normal operations.
