Bill introduced to help New Mexico Defense Force

SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE)– When an emergency strikes like the goliath storm we saw in December, or the mass natural gas outage in 2011, one state lawmaker thinks more people should be allowed to help.
Jeff Steinborn has introduced a bill that would relax the age requirement for those who want to join the New Mexico Defense Force.
The group responds to and prepares for disasters.
Right now the cut off is 64 years old, Steinborn wants to expand it to 75.
